Learning to Produce Fashion Videos With Three Bird Nest

I’ve never made videos for a fashion brand before, so I was excited to dive in when Sacred Lens Films asked me to help produce a Fall 2025 campaign for Three Bird Nest. Here’s one of the final videos:

The brief was detailed: create a series of videos for social, filmed in tandem with a photoshoot. This meant two simultaneous sets and workflows running side-by-side. The project was broken into b-roll and testimonials, so the entire day was a delicate dance coordinating locations and outfit changes. Our secret weapon? A shared Excel sheet that became a work of art, with each model’s schedule carefully color coded and timestamped. I should print it out and frame it because it was less a spreadsheet and more fine art.

The models were rockstars and I have so much respect for on-camera talent. You need charisma, the ability to play to the camera, and the skill to sell the mood and tone of an outfit. Every single model brought it. On top of that, they were all so fun and genuinely kind, which made the whole experience feel less like work and more like hanging out with talented friends who just happened to know what they’re doing on camera.

Sundeep Singh directed the videos and CRUSHED. It was an incredible learning experience watching him in his element. He brought such precision to his shots, knowing exactly what reactions and movements to capture. We also had the very talented Nathan Podshadley, who lit the frame beautifully as our gaffer. Small team, big results. Our Sony cameras were set up vertically for social media, which still feels like breaking some sacred rule of filmmaking. But I’m slowly becoming a portrait-video believer, don’t worry.

At the end of the day, the biggest takeaway is that with a collaborative team and the right energy, video production becomes effortless. It was also a crash course in how to create scroll-stopping content that connects with audiences on social platforms. I had such a great time and would love to jump into fashion projects again.

Check out the entire series on Three Bird Nest’s YouTube, Instagram, etc. Such a great vibe and group of folks who run the team over there. And as always, if you need production services hit me up or check out my company, Elephant Smash.
